Health Care Advocacy

An inspiring course at Harvard College in the mid-1990s sparked Rachel’s interest in the importance of high-quality health care and health insurance. From there, she developed an interest in health care advocacy that led her to pursue a joint law/public health degree (J.D./M.P.H.), and then an early career in health care law.

Using this background and interest, we provide health care advocacy advice. We answer questions about accessing health insurance, including private health insurance and Medicare. We advise clients about the transition from private health insurance to Social Security and Medicare. We also have experience assisting clients in resolving health insurance coverage concerns and denials, including the coordination of benefits from multiple health insurers. When necessary we apply this knowledge to disputes with long term care insurers about coverage for long term care services, at home or in a facility.
